Day 2 - UTAH/IDAHO/WYOMING
Travel north today along the edge of the Great Salt Lake into Idaho for lunch in Montpelier. Tour the Oregon/California Trail Center, which sits on the Oregon Trail, and learn about the rugged pioneers who followed this 2000 mile trail west. Continue into Wyoming, the rugged west, with spectacular mountains, silver springs, spacious grasslands, cowboys and warm hospitable people. Two nights in Jackson Hole, an area surrounded by soaring, jagged peaks of the Grand Teton mountains. Meals BL LODGE AT JACKSON HOLE
Day 3 - RAFTING/TETON NATIONAL PARK This morning enjoy a scenic raft trip on the Snake River as it meanders through stunning alpine scenery with the Grand Teton Mountains as the backdrop! Day 4 - YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK Drive north into Yellowstone National Park, established in 1872 as our first national park, where our park guide will board our motorcoach as we begin touring this park of natural wonders. Elk, moose and bison roam throughout the park and you will have lots of photo opportunities. The famous Old Faithful Geyser shoots its plume skyward approximately every 90 minutes and is outside the front door of the Inn. Meals BD OLD FAITHFUL INN
Day 5 - YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
With 10,000 hot springs, two-thirds of all geysers in the world, thundering waterfalls and colorful paint pots, Yellowstone will thrill you! View the spectacular "Grand Canyon of Yellowstone," carved by the waters of the Yellowstone River. A park guide will be with us throughout the day to explain more wonders of this park. Day 6 - CODY We drive along twisting roads with forests of lodgepole pine and quaking aspen to the cattle lands of western Wyoming. Arrive in Cody, founded in 1896 by "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center featuring the Buffalo Bill Museum and the Whitney Gallery of Western Art. Browse the many western shops of Cody before we check into our hotel. Day 7 - BIGHORN MOUNTAINS/SHERIDAN Experience the splendor of the Bighorn Mountains as you traverse beautiful canyons and endless mountains. Wildflowers carpet the grasslands and cowboys work throughout the area. Meals BLD HOLIDAY INN
Day 8 - BLACK HILLS/MOUNT RUSHMORE Travel into the Black Hills of South Dakota. Visit the great Mount Rushmore National Memorial where a thousand feet above you are the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln carved into the granite walls of a mountain. Visit the Crazy Horse Memorial, the largest statue in the world, and Custer State Park where buffalo roam. Dinner at the State Game Lodge. Overnight in Rapid City. Meals BLD ALEX JOHNSON HOTEL
Day 9 - RAPID CITY/HOME
Morning transfer to the airport for our return flights to Philadelphia where our motorcoach will be waiting to return to Newark and Georgetown. Meals B&meals in flight
