Day 3 - ROYAL GORGE SCENIC RAILWAY/DURANGO
Welcome to Canon City, site of the Royal Gorge. The 12-mile route aboard the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway follows the most famous portion of the old Denver and Rio Grande Western train line. Ride through the “Grand Canyon of the Arkansas” on an unforgettable journey over the famous Hanging Bridge, which clings precariously to the steep granite walls of Royal Gorge. Continue to Durango, CO for two nights, a town famous for its narrow gauge railroad. Meals:B,D
Day 7 - GRAND JUNCTION/VAIL DENVER
We’ll return to Denver this afternoon with a glorious ride past famous ski areas and a stop in chic Vail for an independent lunch and time to explore and shop. Dinner at your hotel this evening. Meals:B,D

Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/NEWARK/WILMINGTON/PHL AIRPORT/COLORADO SPRINGS
Late morning departure for Philadelphia Airport to board our non-stop flight to Denver, CO. On arrival transfer to our waiting deluxe motorcoach to drive south to Colorado Springs, nestled in the heart of the Rockies. Check into your hotel, your home for two nights. Dinner at our hotel this evening. Meals:D
Explore the mountains, beauty and history of Colorado! Travel on two scenic train rides - the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway, the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway plus the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway. Visit Mesa Verde National Park and the Colorado National Monument. Wine tasting, and a Cowboy Dinner show. It is exciting and lots of fun!
Day 2 - GARDEN OF THE GODS/PIKE’S PEAK
Visit the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel this morning Next it’s on to the stunning Garden of the Gods, a 1,300 acre park where flora and fauna reflect the rich diversity of the terrain and red sandstone formations tell a unique geological story. The Garden lies at the base of Pike’s Peak, which is your next adventure. “Ride to the Clouds” aboard the Pike’s Peak Cog Railway, the highest cog railroad in the U.S. Stretching nine miles long the cog railway vertically climbs 7,539 feet. Return to our hotel. Meals:B,L
Day 4- MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK
Drive west to the great Mesa Verde National Park. Once home to the ancient pueblo ancestors and their cliff dwellings, they have disappeared and left us a part of their world to explore. A park ranger will join us as we explore the park. Return to Durango for an afternoon at leisure followed by a Cowboy Dinner and music this evening. Meals:B,L,D
Day 5 - DURANGO/SILVERTON TRAIN/GRAND JUNCTION
Depart Durango aboard the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, voted one of the “Top Ten Most Exciting Train Journeys in the World” by the Society of American Travel Writers. Climb through the canyons in the remote wilderness of the San Juan National Forest, pulled by a coal-fired, steam operated locomotive maintained in original condition. Our destination is Silverton, a restored silver mining town. Time for an independent lunch and to explore Silverton before traveling the Million Dollar Highway into Grand Junction for two nights. Day 6 - COLORADO MONUMENT/GRAND JUNCTION
A park guide will join us for our dramatic sightseeing in the massive Colorado National Monument, an area of high desert land. From our guide learn about the animals, plants, huge red rock formations and fascinating characters. Dinosaurs, who used to roam about in this area, are one of his favorite subjects -you’ll hear fascinating things about them. He will also show us Grand Junction and tell us its history. Relax this evening with wine tasting and dinner at a well-known local winery this evening. Meals:B,D
