CONDITIONS: A deposit of $250 is due with each reservation. Insurance of $280 per person must accompany your deposit. With insurance you may cancel for any reason. Without insurance the deposit is $500 per person and is non-refundable after December 16 , 2016.

Cancellations: Insurance does not cover the single supplement if one of two roommates cancels. The supplement will be deducted from the refund due the person who cancels.  Final payment is due March 1, 2017.

Day 8 - ALGARVE/FARO/SAO BRAS de ALPORTEL/ALGARVE              
Journey to Faro, gateway to the Ria Formosa protected lagoon landscape. Explore the city’s historic center with 9-th century Roman walls, dramatic golden coastline and its archaeological and architectural gems. In Sao Bras de Alportel enjoy a presentation by a local liqueur maker followed by a tasting of many varieties made in the region. Then visit a local cork factory to learn about its importance to the local economy and its many uses. Your day comes to an end with dinner featuring local delicacies and wine.   Meals:B,D

 Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/NEWARK/WILMINGTON/PHILADELPHIA AIRPORT            
An afternoon departure for Philadelphia Airport to board our overnight flight to Lisbon.   Meals:D in flight

Day 7 - THE ALGARVE AND A DAY AT LEISURE

Day 5 - CASCAIS/EVORA/MONSARAZ/ALENTEJO   
Travel through beautiful Portuguese countryside to historic Evora (UNESCO) known as the “ Museum City of Portugal”. Within this medieval city lies a 2nd-century Roman temple to Diana. Journey next to the hilltop, walled city of Monsaraz,  a town that has preserved its original charm. Indulge in a winery tour and a tasting of the full-bodied wines of the area. You’ll stay in the heart of Alentejo’s countryside during an overnight at a country resort set among 3,000 acres of farm land, vineyards and cork trees.   Meals:B,D

Day 9 - THE ALGARVE/AZELTAO/LISBON  

Enroute to Lisbon, we make a stop in Azeitao, a lovely agricultural village known for red wine, olive trees and beautiful country estates. After some local wine tasting, meet local artisans at a family-run shop that demonstrates how azulejos, the famous hand-painted Portuguese tiles are made. Day 4 - CASCAIS/SINTRA/OBIDOS/FATIMA/CASCAIS

Begin your day exploring the picturesque town of Sintra (UNESCO), summer residence of Portuguese kings for six centuries. Continue to the “Silver Coast” filled with rich vineyards and age-old castles. We’ll visit lovely Obidos where white-washed houses are held snug by medieval city walls. Later visit Fatima, the world-famous Marian pilgrimage site. Meals:B

Day 3 - CASCAIS/LISBON/CASCAIS    

Your choice of a Lisbon Panoramic City Tour or an Alfama District Walking Tour this morning. Your Lisbon motorcoach tour features Belem Tower (UNESCO), The Monument to the Discoveries and the National Museum of Coaches. Or perhaps you would choose to take a walking tour of the historic Alfama District, a step back in time as you explore this residential neighborhood considered a village within a city with white-washed houses with lovely tiled panels and balconies filled with pots of flowers. Return to Cascais with leisure time to walk the wide oceanside promenade or shop for ceramics, lace and tapestries. This evening savor Portuguese cuisine and wine while local artists perform the traditional Fado (UNESCO).   Meals:B,D

Day 6 - ALENTEJO/SAGRES/LAGOS/THE ALGARVE  

Travel to the Algarve where some of the best beaches in Europe are found! Discover the secrets of the 16th century fortress at Sagres, home of Prince Henry’s School of Navigation. Magnificent views of Cape of St. Vincente where 200-foot cliffs plunge into the Atlantic at the most southwesterly point of Europe. Next we explore the resort town of Lagos , where Vasaco da Gama sailed in 1499 on his epic voyage of discovery. Leisure time to enjoy your surroundings and the great views.   Meals:B,D
