Enjoy a tour of the Mount Vernon Mansion, including the Grounds and Gardens, the Museum and a Boat Cruise on the Potomac River.  Mount Vernon is the plantation house of George Washington, the first President of the United States, and his wife, Martha Washington. This iconic estate is situated on the banks of the Potomac River in Virginia. Once a vibrant plantation in the 18th century, the estate is now one of the nation’s most visited historic sites. Combining an authentically interpreted 18th-century home, lush gardens and grounds, intriguing museum galleries, immersive programs, and first-rate dining and shopping, Mount Vernon is an incomparable national treasure.  On December 19, 1960, Mount Vernon was designated a National Historic Landmark and later listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
