Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/NEWARK/WILMINGTON/SAN FRANCISCO
Following departures drive to Philadelphia Airport for our flight to San Francisco, "The City by the Bay."  Dinner this evening at Neptune's Restaurant on Pier 39 overlooking San Francisco Bay.

Day 2 - SAN FRANCISCO
Enjoy breakfast and then a great local guide will join us
for a tour of this delightful city including its history and architecture.  Highlights include the Twin Peaks, the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, and the small town of Sausalito, across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Late afternoon at leisure to perhaps take a cable car ride or visit Ghirardelli Square.  Meals B

Day 3 - SAN FRANCISCO/MONTEREY PENINSULA
Drive south this morning to the Monterey-Carmel Peninsula, an enclave of magnificent homes, beaches, twisted cypress and the famous Pebble Beach golf course.  Monterey is no doubt one of the most beautiful areas in the world and Gale, our naturalist/guide, will join us in the afternoon.  She will share her passion for the area as she shows us Point Lobos, charming Pacific Grove, Seal Rock, 17-Mile Drive and more.  Browse in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a charming village known for its galleries and shops.  Dinner this evening in Monterey.  Meals BD

Day 4 - HEARST CASTLE/REDWOODS/BIG SUR
Travel down Highway 1, one of the most beloved coastal drives in the world.  A stop at the Julia Pfeiffer Redwood Forest to learn about these gigantic coastal trees before weaving our way south along the slopes of Big Sur to Hearst Castle.  A guided tour of this great castle at San Simeon, grandiose estate of publisher William Randolph Hearst, before arriving in the Danish community of Solvang for overnight.  Meals BD

Day 5 - SOLVANG/GETTY VILLA/SIMI VALLEY
Travel inland to Santa Barbara, silhouetted against the Santa Ynez Mountains.  See the Mediterranean architecture and murals of this old court house, a jewel in this delightful coastal city.  On to Malibu and the Getty Villa, modeled after a first-century Roman country house, the Villa del-Papiri in Herculaneum, Italy.  The villa immerses visitors in the ancient world with Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquities.  Continue to the Simi Valley for overnight.  Meals

Day 6 - RONALD REAGAN LIBRARY
Sleep in this morning or relax by the pool before visiting the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.  Enjoy lunch here before our tour where you will experience his Oval Office, glimpse fragments of the Berlin Wall, step aboard Air Force One, and enjoy the many exhibits.  Return to our hotel.  Meals CB&L

Day 7 - SIMI VALLEY/SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO/SAN DIEGO
On to Hollywood for a look at the Hollywood Walk of Fame where the "stars" have imprinted their hands and signatures.  Continue down the coast to San Juan Capistrano for a guided tour of the mission, one of the 21 missions in California.  Overnight in San Diego, your home for two nights.   Meals CB&L

Day 8 - SAN DIEGO ZOO/CORONADO
Fun today at the famous San Diego Zoo, a world-class zoo in Balboa Park.  More than 4,000 animals live in enclosures simulating their natural environment.  Included in your admission is a ride on a double-decker bus through the zoo and an aerial tramway runs from the entrance to the Elephant Odyssey that features elephants, jaguars and California condors.  There is a Polar Bear Plunge with an underground viewing area, pandas, gorillas, camels (love those carefully engineered animals) and hundreds of other animals to delight you.  Lunch on your own at your choice of several restaurants plus several shops.  Afternoon finds us on a motorcoach tour of beautiful Coronado across the harbor.  Return to our hotel.  Dinner this evening at Tom Hamm's Restaurant overlooking the harbor.  Meals BD

Day 9 - SAN DIEGO/HOME
Transfer to the San Diego Airport for our return to Philadelphia where transportation will be waiting to return us to Wilmington, Newark and Independence.  Meals B

Reservation deposit $150 due with each reservation.
Balance due January 25, 2014. 
Cancellations:  Cancellation fee is $50 per person (non-refundable airline deposit.)  $100 is refundable until final payment date, January 25, 2014.  After final payment date January 25, 2014, there are no refunds.

Trip interruption insurance is highly recommended.  Purchase of the insurance guarantees full refund of all payments including deposits, except the cost of the insurance.  INSURANCE MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE TIME OF DEPOSIT.
