This is not "a tour" - it is a vacation full of new experiences including magnificent Pacific Northwest scenery, wine tasting, an in-depth look at Boeing building jet aircraft, a great whale watching experience, lovely gardens (one made of glass) and the exciting cities of Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, and Victoria, Canada.

 Itinerary

Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/NEWARK/UD LIFELONG LEARNING WILMINGTON/PHILADELPHIA AIRPORT
Morning departures for Philadelphia Airport to board our flight to Portland, OR.  On arrival transfer to our hotel with dinner included this evening at a local restaurant.  Meals D

Day 2 - MT. HOOD/COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
Timberline LodgeWith Mt. Hood standing over 11,000 ft. dominating the background, travel to the south side of the mountain high above the timberline to Timberline Lodge, a National Historic Landmark, with marvelous views of the Cascade Mountains.  Lunch at the lodge following a lodge tour and then wind through Oregon's famed wine country, with a stop at Mount Hood Winery.  The drive back to Portland features the awesome beauty of the Columbia River Gorge and a stop at Multnomah Falls.  Meals BL

Day 3 - TACOMA/SEATTLE, WA
A short drive north from Portland into the state of Washington and on to Tacoma.  Glass sculpture extraordinaire Dale Chihuly is a Tacoma native and his glass creations are exhibited throughout the world.  Walk across his 500 ft. bridge of glass featuring his artwork, including the SeChiluly Bridge of Glassaform Pavilion - a glass ceiling displaying his glittering glass creations.  The Venetian Wall features pieces by Chihuly with twisting spirals, glass sea creatures, and flowers decorating vases.  Enjoy lunch before our visit to the Lemay Car Museum, departing on a short drive to Seattle, your home for two nights.  Dinner this evening at one of Seattle's fine restaurants.  Meals BD

Day 4 - SEATTLE
Tour beautiful Seattle, once a lumbering center and now an exciting metropolitan area.  Also visit Pike Peak Market, famous for its food and produce vendors, craft booths and fish throwing mongers.  Ride the Monorail to the famous Space Needle and take the elevator to the observation deck for glorious views of the city and the waters surrounding it.  A special treat - visit the new Chihuly Gardens and Glass Center to see the magnificent Chihuly glass creations!  Meals B

Day 5 - SEATTLE/EVERETT/VICTORIAVictoria Clipper
An exciting day as we drive to Everett, WA for the Future of Flight Aviation Center Boeing Center.  Watch the world's largest jets assembled.  Begin in the Boeing Theater by viewing an amazing film about how the Boeing aircraft assembly has changed the world.  On the tour watch Boeing 747's, 777's and 787's being built for customers around the world.  Later board the Victoria Clipper for a smooth and scenic catamaran ride through Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the lovely city of Victoria, Canada.  Transfer to our hotel overlooking Victoria Harbor with dinner included at Chateau Victoria's top floor restaurant, Vista 18.  Meals BD

Day 6 - BUTCHART GARDENS EXCURSION/WHALE WATCHING
Not far from Victoria are the magnificent Butchart Gardens, once a limestone quarry and now Butchart Gardensone of the most famous and beautiful gardens in the world.  Each year one million bedding plants are used to ensure uninterrupted blooms from March through October.  Explore the gardens and enjoy lunch before our afternoon whale watching cruise with a marine life naturalist providing commentary about these awesome mammals or afternoon Tea at the Empress Hotel in place of the cruise.  Meals BL

DELTA VICTORIA HOTEL

Day 7 - VICTORIA/SEATTLE
Transfer to the pier for our jet boat ride back to Seattle arriving mid-afternoon.  Visit the exciting Seattle Aquarium where you see otters, sea lions, the colorful fish of the Pacific Ocean, a salmon run, octopus of all sorts, and sea creatures you may never have seen before.  Check in at our hotel followed by our farewell dinner.  Meals BL

PARAMOUNT HOTEL, SEATTLE

Day 8 - SEATTLE/PHILADELPHIA
Morning transfer to the airport for our return flight to Philadelphia where transportation will be waiting to return you to UD Lifelong Learning Wilmington, Newark and Independence.  Meals B

  Conditions:
Reservation deposit $150 due with each reservation.
Balance due June 5, 2013. 
Cancellations:  Cancellation fee is $50 per person (non-refundable airline deposit fee.)  $100 is refundable until final payment date, June 5, 2013.  After this date, no refunds.
