Our drive this morning takes us to Campobello Island, the setting of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s summer cottage. View the film “Beloved Island” and tour the Roosevelt summer home. Continue south to Bar Harbor for overnight at our especially delightful hotel. Meals:B,L

Day 6 - CHARLOTTETOWN
Our local guide will join us this morning as we travel through beautiful farm lands of red soil, the province’s best known physical feature. Travel along the magnificent beaches of Prince Edward Island National Park. Visit Green Gables, the literary home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables”. Dinner at our hotel this evening before a performance of the musical “Anne of Green Gables” at the Confederation Centre. Meals: B,L,D

Day 7 - CHARLOTTETOWN/ST. ANDREWS-BY-THE-SEA
We leave Prince Edward Island via the new Confederation Bridge that spans the Northumberland Strait linking the island to New Brunswick. Drive along the Strait through French towns to the Hopewell Rocks on the Fundy Coastal Drive, where the tides race in and completely cover the beach area in 27 minutes. Arrive in beautiful St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, where your hotel’s seaside location provides a relaxing backdrop. Meals: B,D
Day 5 - HALIFAX/PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
Travel to Caribou to board the ferry to lovely Prince Edward Island. We’ll cross the warmest waters north of the Carolinas - the Northumberland Strait. Mid-afternoon arrival in Charlottetown where our local guide will join us for a tour of the town and a part of the island. We end the day with a Maritime tradition, the Lobster Supper. Tasty chowder or soup, locally cultivated mussels, salad and homemade rolls accompany a one-pound lobster (meat alternative available). Return to Charlottetown and our deluxe hotel, your home for two nights.Meals:B,D

Day 3 - YARMOUTH/HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA
Arrive in Yarmouth at 8:00 am and after custom formalities, meet your local guide. Travel along the Lighthouse Route to the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, known as one of the prettiest towns in Canada and the best preserved North American example of an eighteenth-century British colonial town plan. Explore the town with your guide and have an independent lunch. Arrive Halifax in the late afternoon. Meals: B,D

Day 4 - HALIFAX/PEGGY’S COVE/HALIFAX
Your guide will show you the port city of Halifax this morning. Hear stories of Halifax during the war years, including the Halifax explosion and the city’s role in the recovery operations after the Titanic disaster. Visit Halifax Public Gardens, a fine example of Victorian landscaping. Later this morning travel to Peggy’s Cove, a quaint fishing village that stands on solid rock with a tiny harbor below the lighthouse full of seasoned fish sheds and colorful fishing boats. Return to Halifax with the remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy the shops and restaurants near our hotel. Meals: B,L

After breakfast depart for home, stopping enroute for lunch at the Nassau Inn, with arrival in Wilmington, Newark and Independence in the late afternoon. Meals: B,L

This morning continue north into Kennebunkport, Maine where you can explore the Dock Area of the town, have an independent lunch and enjoy the many shops and seaside activities. An hour up the coast is the city of Portland, Maine where we will have dinner at Demillos before we board the ferry for your cruise to Nova Scotia.
