Day 2 - LONDON        

Arrive London and after custom formalities transfer to our London Hotel overlooking the Thames River. Remainder of the day at leisure or have a walk around the colorful St. Katherine Docks or visit the nearby Tower of London. Three nights in this exciting city!  Meals:B in flight

 Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/NEWARK/WILMINGTON/PHL AIRPORT 

Afternoon departure from Independence, Newark and Wilmington for Philadelphia Airport for our overnight flight to London.  Meals:D in flight

Day 6 - YORK/EDINBURGH    

Continue north through rolling fields on your way to Scotland. Stretched across the country you will find Hadrian’s Wall which once marked the border of the Roman Empire. We’ll stop to see this ancient fortification, begun in AD 122 to protect Roman Britain from the Scottish tribes. On to Edinburgh, Scotland’s exciting capital city, rich in beauty and culture.  Meals:B,D

Day 5 - LONDON/CAMBRIDGE/YORK    

We’ll drive north to visit Cambridge this morning, a delightful city and home to the university which is more than 800 years old. Then to medieval York to see the famous Minster and walk on the “Shambles”, a quaint narrow street that appears almost as it did during the Middle Ages. Overnight in York.  Meals:B

Day 4 - LONDON TOURING     

Your sightseeing includes the quintessential sight of London with a local guide. View Big  Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard (if held). Afternoon at leisure to explore the city. Perhaps you will want to ride The Wheel or cruise the Thames. This evening, enjoy an optional dinner at Simpson’s-in-the–Strand followed by a theater performance.  Meals:B

Day 3 - LONDON/WINDSOR/HAMPTON COURT     

4 Seasons Tours has added this special day of sightseeing for our group. Windsor Castle, one of England’s most important addresses, is the largest inhabited castle in the world and has been home to British royalty for over 900 years. Your guided touring includes touring the State Apartments and St. George’s Chapel. Lunch independently in one of the many nearby restaurants. Then on to magnificent Hampton Court, one of the only two surviving palaces owned by King Henry VIII. Both the palace and the gardens are marvelous to see. Return to our hotel after touring.  Meals:B,D

Day 8 - EDINBURGH/LAKE DISTRICT, WALES Depart lovely Edinburgh this morning for the picturesque Lake District, where we will visit the village of Grasmere, home of the poet William Wordsworth. End your day with an overnight stay in beautiful Ruthin Castle, situated in north Wales. Meals:B,D

Day 7– EDINBURGH

A marvelous day as our local guide joins us for a tour of Edinburgh Castle, home of the Scottish Crown Jewels. You will get a glimpse of what life is like for the Royals during your visit to the Palace of Holyrood House, the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh and once the home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Your evening is at leisure to sample one of Edinburgh’s fine restaurants and perhaps take a stroll along Princes Street to view the illuminated castle. Meals:B DOUBLETREE EDINBURGH CITY CENTER

Day 11 - STRATFORD/HOME

Morning departure from Stratford to London/Heathrow Airport for our return flight to Philadelphia. Upon arrival a motor coach will be waiting to return you to Wilmington, Newark and Independence.  Meals:B and in flight​

Day 10 - STRATFORD/STONEHENGE/COTSWOLD/STRATFORD  Another lovely day as we stop at Stonehenge, a fascinating and mystical site. Then travel through some of England’s most beautiful countryside - the  villages of the Cotswolds region. Tonight join your fellow travelers for a private farewell dinner at Hall’s Croft, a 400-year old Shakespeare-family home as traditionally costumed actors perform some of the playwright’s most renowned scenes. Day 9 – WALES/STRATFORD-UPON-AVON     

Journey to Stratford today, birthplace of William Shakespeare and your home for two nights. Walk in Shakespeare’s footsteps, visiting his birthplace as well as Anne Hathaway’s thatched-roofed cottage, the childhood home of the author’s wife. It is a nice town in which to do some shopping.  Meals:B
