An exciting vacation takes you to Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks plus the National Historic Monument, Canyon de Chelly and the Hubbell Trading Post, a National Historic Site.  The beauty of our southwest is breathtaking and we have included new experiences and excitement in four great states: New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Nevada.  We invite you to join us on our Southwest adventure.

 Itinerary

Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/WILMINGTON/PHILADELPHIA/ALBUQUERQUE, NM
Morning departure for Philadelphia Airport to board your flight to Albuquerque.  Transfer on arrival to your hotel where you will enjoy a get-acquainted dinner this evening with your travel companions.    Meals D
HOTEL ALBUQUERQUE

Day 2 - ALBUQUERQUE/SANTA FE/ALBUQUERQUE
We'll follow the Turquoise Trail on our motorcoach to Sante Fe, a 400 year old city with a blend of cultures so evident in its beautiful Southwest adobe architecture.  Our guide will show us the Sante Fe TrailLoretta Chapel with its miraculous spiral staircase, St. Francis Cathedral and the histori Town Plaza, which marks the end of the Sante Fe Trail.  Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant followed by a visit to the Georgia O'Keefe Museum filled with her dramatic paintings, drawings and sculpture.  Free time to explore the Town Plaza with its many shops and galleries.  Return to Albuquerque.  Meals BL

HOTEL ALBUQUERQUE

Day 3 - ALBUQUERQUE/CANYON DE CHELLY
Canyon de ChellyOur morning drive takes us into the desert to Canyon de Chelly National Monument (pronounced Canyon D'shay) for lunch and a guided tour of this magnificent area.  It is on the Navaho Reservation and there are two canyons with sheer red sandstone walls rising 1,000 feet above you.  Ancient cliff dwellings are visible in many of the cliffs.  It is one of the outstanding sites of the Southwest!  Meals BL

Day 4 - CANYON DE CHELLEY/WINSLOW/FLAGSTAFF, AZ
We travel on today stopping this morning at the Hubbell Trading Post, a National Historic Site, originally owned by John Hubbell, who purchased the trading post in 1878.  Continue to Winslow, AZ for lunch at the beautiful La Posado Hotel and to learn of its history and that of the Harvey Girls from our guide, a member of the Harvey Girls Association whose mission is to preserve the fascinating history of these women who helped settle the west.  Continue to Flagstaff, AZ, your home for two nights.  Meals BLD

Day 5 - FLAGSTAFF/GRAND CANYONGrand Canyon
Morning departure for the great Grand Canyon, known for its overwhelming size, colorful landscape and thick, colorful ancient rocks exposed in the walls of the canyon.  These rock layers record much of the geologic history of the North American continent.  Cut by the Colorado River for millions of years, it is over 6000 feet deep.  Enjoy a motorcoach tour of the canyon with a Park Guide followed by lunch at the El Tovar Hotel overlooking the rim of the canyon.  Leisure time to enjoy the canyon before returning to Flagstaff.  Meals BL

LITTLE AMERICA HOTEL

Day 6 - FLAGSTAFF/LAKE POWELL/PAGE, AZ
After breakfast travel to Lake Powell, making a rest stop at the interesting Cameron Trading Post enroute.  Travel through the colorful Vermillion Cliff area to the magnificent 186-mile long Lake Powell, one of the longest man-made lakes ever created, fringed with colorful fjord-like canyons. Enjoy lunch at Wahweap Lodge followed by a cruise on the lake with its colorful canyons.  Overnight in nearby Page.  Meals BL

Bryce CanyonDay 7 - PAGE/BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK/SPRINGDALE, UT
Another day of brilliantly colored formations in Bryce Canyon National Park.  A park guide will join us as we travel the rim of the park and look down upon huge spirals and pinnacles of red, pink and white sandstone, sculptured by wind and rain for millions of years.  Lunch independently at the Bryce Lodge before continuing to Zion National Park and overnight at the west entrance.  Meals BD

BEST WESTERN SPRINGDALE

Day 8 - ZION NATIONAL PARK/LAS VEGAS
Tour Zion National Park, a contrast of narrow deep canyons where towering monoliths rise above you before entering a valley carpeted with green.  Independent lunch at the Lodge before we depart for Las Vegas, your home for two nights.  Meals B

Hoover DamFLAMINGO LAS VEGAS

Day 9 - HOOVER DAM
Our morning activity takes us to the great Hoover Dam.  Standing 726 ft. high, it is one of the largest concrete dams ever built.  Your tour includes the Visitors Center and the Power Plant.  A new bridge spanning Black Canyon has been completed and is awesome.  Return to Las Vegas for an afternoon to explore on your own.  Dinner included this evening.  Meals BD

FLAMINGO LAS VEGAS

Day 10 - LAS VEGAS/PHILADELPHIA
Morning departure for the airport for our direct flight to Philadelphia where transportation will be waiting to return you to Wilmington, Newark and Independence.  Meals B

Reservation deposit $150 due with each reservation.
Balance due July 1, 2013. 
Cancellations:  Cancellation fee is $50 per person (non-refundable airline deposit fee.)  $100 is refundable until final payment date.  After July 1, 2013, no refunds.
